Abstract

The present study makes considerations about the introduction of new technologies and the current and future scenario. In the context of the Networking Society, the new technological order has become much more than something accessory, being part of everyday life as something essential to it. Thus, one can no longer remain in the dichotomy of "real" or "virtual", being the perception of reality a sum of both, in which the two perform a symbiosis that generates the vision of today's society. These innovations, however, end up interfering in areas where until then the human psyche prevailed for decision making. Making use of predictions and results presented by a software, actions are performed according to the parameters presented on a screen. Therefore, this paper discusses the concepts of society in the technological era, defining some essential terms for the understanding of the issue, and analyzing specifically the role of predictive policing programs, and how, without critical use, they serve to perpetuate an image that fits with social biases. In this regard, it is important to place transparency as a determining factor in the treatment and analysis of these decisions, talking about the right to an explanation as a corollary of the use of new technologies, so that one can analyze and determine whether there have been violations of fundamental rights in the process, thus maintaining the hygiene of the system, in a plan of contemplation of the dignity of the human person.
